Abstract:CuO-ZnO-ZrO2 catalysts are prepared by co-precipitation and modified with metal oxides as promoters. The effects of the addition of Ag2O or La2O3 promoter on the catalytic performance of CuO-ZnO-ZrO2 catalyst are investigated in a fixed-bed plug flow reactor for CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. The catalysts are characterized by XRD and H2-TPR. The results show that, both the promoters can improve the activity of CuO-ZnO-ZrO2 and the catalyst with 6% La2O3 shows the best catalytic activity. The investigation of catalysts indicates that Ag served as active sites in the CuO-ZnO-ZrO2 catalyst and the appropriate amount of La2O3 helps to improve the dispersion of CuO and ZnO.
